REY OVERVIEW

REY is a Clan that is devoted exclusively to playing and promoting the game of RUNE. The name of our Clan – REY – means “King” in the Spanish language and is a reflection that REY was originally a Latino Clan when it was formed in March 2002 as an Association. As such, the Clan was unique among the Rune Clans, being based upon Hispanic culture that is found in Spain and (as a result of Spain’s extensive empire in the New World) throughout South and Central America and the Southwest of the USA as well.

However, not too long after the Clan’s founding, it was decided to include members who were not of Hispanic heritage and the first non-Hispanic members were added during that summer. During a several-month period (July-October 2002), REY became affiliated with the Kings of Destruction (KOD) Clan. During this period, Clan members wore both KOD and REY tags.

In October 2002, it was decided to reorganize REY into its own separate, formal Clan. At this time, the first REY website and Forum was developed and the Clan underwent rapid expansion through recruitment efforts. The first website/forum was replaced by an improved and enhanced one in January 2003 and the Clan continued to expand its membership, especially with new recruits from Europe. A new website (the present one) was initiated in May 2003 and represents a great improvement over previous versions.
